The International Energy Agency (IEA) predicts that in the next five years the world will add as much new capacity of renewable energy sources (RES) as was added over the previous 20 years. The global energy crisis contributes to such a sharp increase. At the same time, the total renewable energy capacity worldwide should almost double in the next five years, overtaking coal as the largest source of electricity generation, the IEA Renewables 2022 report states.

According to the forecast of the energy agency, the capacity of renewable sources in the world will increase by 2.4 thousand gigawatts by 2027. At the same time, they are expected to account for more than 90 percent of the total increase in world generating capacity over the next five years. Well, the fact that closer to winter Europe began to unpack coal mines and thermal power plants mothballed in ecological waste, the experts chose not to notice.
